In case you are updating any of my themes, make sure to update the header.php and footer.php of your child theme from the new and updated parent theme. Otherwise you’ll get a PHP error since menu php class names had to be changed to be according to wp.org’s best practices.
Today Motioner passed all code-quality tests on wordpress.org and is now available there. Make sure to check it out here. If you use it and like it, consider leaving a review.
All themes should work fine with WordPress 5.6. No updates required.
If you are running into issues with outdated plugins, try using the jQuery Migrate Helper plugin.
(Updated 2020-08-27: Now complete. If you are experiencing issues with the update, read more below.)
I’m currently working to update all themes’ menu base, which has not been touched since 2013. The new update comes with a11y-friendly code. It also supports keyboard navigation (expanding dropdowns) and many other neat features.
The mobile menu now has nice transitions and collapsed sub-menus that can be expanded level-by-level.
The whole update takes quite a while to do for each theme, as the menus look has to be remade from the ground up, styling options needs to be remade too, and in some cases, dark mode needs additional menu styling.
All premium and free themes have been updated to the latest version of Kirki (3.1.5) which has full support for WordPress 5.5. This means that you can safely upgrade to WordPress 5.5 when it goes live later this month.
If you are having issues with your theme, first try to install the jQuery Migrate Helper plugin. If that does not fix your issue, add this to your functions.php:
Today all 14 free themes and 11 premium themes have been updated. The update includes a folder structure update for premium themes, Kirki 3.1.0 update and old CSS cleanup. A Chrome overflow bug has been fixed for the themes with the issue as well.
All themes have had their Gutenberg/blocks support improved and the responsive CSS on/off option has been removed as it was never used. Language file has been updated. The review link has been updated for the free themes – it removed ?filter=5, which gave an inaccurate view of only 5-star reviews.
All premium and free themes have been updated to the latest versions of Kirki and Font Awesome. The update is now available for download in your website’s WordPress dashboard. The update also contains a small fix for the comment box checkbox to align properly with the text beside it.
If you are experiencing any issues with the auto updates for your premium theme, please report it in the comments below or in the support forums.
I’m currently going through the time-taking process of updating all themes from Font Awesome 4.7.0 to 5.9.0. A ton of changes are needed for each theme, so it will take a while. The current status is that Gridzone, Minimer, Readline, Stylizer, Curver and Boxstyle are finished and now running FA 5.
Stay tuned as I work through all the rest of the themes.
Update:(2019-07-29) All 12 free themes are now using FA 5.9.0.
Update 2:(2019-07-30) All premium themes updated as well.
I’ve moved the website(s) to a new domain: alx.media – instead of alxmedia.se. Short and sweet. This move also included manually setting up all 18 theme demo websites again, which is now done. The new domain also runs https, for secure browsing.
In this move, I changed web host from Webfaction to SiteGround, as Webfaction has been aquired by GoDaddy. So far I’ve had zero issues with SiteGround. Their awesome SG Optimizer WordPress plugin should hopefully make the websites faster to browse as well.
Finally, I’ve also updated my contact email. It is now contact(at)alx.media. Got any questions? Just send me a mail or use the contact form on the contact page.
If you see any issues, please report them! Thanks.
Keeping your theme up to date is a good idea if you want all of the latest features and bugfixes. The current version number can be seen in the top right corner of the theme page. If your own theme version is older than this, you should update. Here is how:
