Theme Extensions

As required by wordpress.org, some features – we’re calling them extensions now – have been moved to the companion plugin Alx Extensions. If you have a theme from AlxMedia, premium or free, make sure to have it installed! You are missing out on several nice features if you don’t.

What extensions?

The plugin includes the following features:

• Social sharing buttons – Includes some neat sharing icons with share count on articles single view
• Image/thumbnail upscaling – Scales up too small images before cropping so that all cropped images get the same size.
• Custom sidebars – Create unlimited sidebars for your theme and select them in Theme Options > Sidebars in your theme’s options.
• Custom widgets – Includes two popular custom widgets, Alx Posts and Alx Tabs
• Meta boxes – Currently includes two post format meta boxes, one for audio posts and one for videos.

All of these options can be turned on/off from the live customizer panel, Customize > Theme Extensions.
